We probably don’t need to tell you that the Soul series, including the very first Soul Edge, was only available on consoles and arcades. That is all about to change with the latest announcement from Brandi Namco. This time around they are tackling the PC platform and taking a cue from several large publishers that have found success migrating over to PC.

Better now than later. After only 4 days, BLACKROOM’s Kickerstarter campaign was pulled by its creators. The entire planet pretty much knows that to be on Kickstarter, you need to have a fully functioning prototype. That seemed to have been an oversight by John Romero and Adrian Carmack.
Seeing how no demo was available the creative duo felt it wise to voluntarily pull the campaign rather than have it yanked by Kickstarter for compliance reasons.
No timeline was given for the reboot, but there was a promise made on their Kickstarter page that they will provide “something special” for those that renew their pledges.

John Romero’s team released a video and have launched their official Kickstarter campaign for BLACKROOM. A return to classic, hardcore FPS gaming. As typical with Romero projects it’s all about the community and this shines through brightly even in the game’s early development stage. Already built into the framework of the game is the ability for players to do their own modding and create customized maps. Needless to mention how much those two aspects bring to the gaming table.

Mobile gaming revenue is well on its way to surpass that of PCs and consoles by the end of 2016. Once considered a joke, and nothing to be taken too seriously by many hardcore developers in the traditional gaming industry, it is now demanding attention from them. Many have embraced the swift ascent of the mobile gaming market and are aggressively developing for it. Others are still in a somewhat state of denial.
According to CNBC, mobile gaming is projected to total $36.9 billion dollars of revenue in 2016. PC gaming is in second with $31.9 billion in sales and consoles are in a close third with $29 billion.
