Samsung S9 details begin to emerge
The mobile phone market is so cat and mousy. A leak here, a “unreleased” released picture slips out there… and details spill out of manufactures all the time. The public is used to receiving details about forthcoming phones on a regular basis. Two of the most popular: Apple and Samsung go through great lengths to try to keep their upcoming new phone’s details unpublished. Yet they still find a way out into the public.
Details about the new Samsung S9 and S9+ are beginning to show their heads. Various sources are saying that there isn’t a whole lot of design changes to the phones when compared to the S8 models. There is one distinguishing factor that makes my ear perk up a little bit.
Samsung will be moving the rear fingerprint sensor from being next to the camera lens. It will now be below the lens in vertical alignment. It would make finding the location of the sensor more natural and easier. But, I have to question the function of that placement. Now I can predict that me, and many thousands of others, are going to constantly rubbing our fingers down the front of the lenses in order to line up our finger over the sensor. I’d think that there are going to be a lot of smudged and blurry pictures being taken out there.
Samsung has indicated there will be a soft launch in early January and a full market launch soon after.
