Brandi Namco set to release Soulcalibur VI for PC, PS4 and Xbox One
We probably don’t need to tell you that the Soul series, including the very first Soul Edge, was only available on consoles and arcades. That is all about to change with the latest announcement from Brandi Namco. This time around they are tackling the PC platform and taking a cue from several large publishers that have found success migrating over to PC.
SoulCalibur VI is a different beast from those previous series. It will reveal some new weapons, add some additional mechanics, characters, and of course the story line. One new mechanic Brandi Namco is touting is called “Reversal Engine” which in essence is a counter to an opponents attack. Nothing necessarily new about counters in games but it could make SoulCalibur VI more skill based.
“Two decades after its first iteration, SoulCalibur VI returns to its roots while bringing brand-new gameplay features to the fight,” says the press release from Bandai Namco. “Travel through the signature 16th century stages and experience the struggle for the two legendary swords using a complete roster of returning iconic SoulCalibur characters, along with some newcomers.”
It is pegged to be released in 2018 (well we hope so – but no month indicated) and as usual additional information is hard to get. Thoroughly excited that the PC will be getting some love on this one.
